John Greed’s Famous Family Stuffing Recipe ✨

No Christmas dinner is complete without stuffing on the side of your plate! Do you want to know how I make my world famous stuffing for the Greed family? Well listen up… in this blog post I am going to talk you through how to make John Greed’s world famous sausage & cranberry stuffing recipe that you can make for your family on Christmas day, Boxing day or even New Years day!

Follow these simple steps and you will have your family thanking you for the rest of the year because of how AMAZING the stuffing was! But pay attention, any error you make in this recipe… their taste buds will suffer as a consequence 👀

To replicate my famous stuffing recipe you will need the following:

  • 1 large onion (finely chopped)
  • 20g Butter
  • 2 slices of bread (white, break into small breadcrumbs)
  • 210g of sausage meat
  • 1 cooking apple (peeled and grated)
  • 210g of cranberry
  • Sage leaves (between 3 and 4)
  • 1/2 tsp of mixed spice (add any spices you feel necessary to your stuffing mixture)
  • Spinach/rocket (to serve, this is optional)
  • Prep time: 10 minutes
  • Cooking time: 50 minutes
  • Can serve up to 7 people

Firstly, you are going to need to pre heat your oven to 200c/180c fan/ gas mark 6. After you have done this, cook the onion in the butter until soft and then add the breadcrumbs to soak up all the juices currently in the pan.

Secondly, add the sausage meat to the pan along with the onions and breadcrumbs and cook until browned. Once this step has been done, add the cranberry, apple, sage leaves and mixed spice to the pan and mix well. (I find the mixed spice works best, but it’s up to you what spice you use!)

By now your oven will be ready for your mixture, so you will need to take the stuffing contents out of the pan and into a roasting tin and bake for 40 minutes until it has browned on the top. Once the time is up, check it is piping hot throughout, then serve on the side of your plate with spinach or rocket (depending on your preference)

TOP TIP – If you have any stuffing left over, leave for the next day to have in a stuffing sandwich (with leftover Christmas dinner) or serve again with the boxing day dinner ✨ Let me tell you a little secret… there is never any leftover in my house so be ready for when that happens!

I would love to see how your stuffing recipes turned out and if you used any other ingredients, let me know in the comments 👇
